What is Wrist Arthroscopy?

Wrist arthroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure used to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the wrist joint. Through small incisions, a tiny camera (arthroscope) and surgical instruments are inserted into the wrist to view and repair damaged tissues. This approach causes minimal trauma to surrounding tissues, leading to faster healing, less scarring, and a quicker return to daily activities.

Who May Need Wrist Arthroscopy?

Wrist arthroscopy is often recommended for patients experiencing:

  • Persistent wrist pain or stiffness

  • Clicking, catching, or swelling in the wrist

  • Ligament injuries or tears

  • Triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) damage

  • Ganglion cysts

  • Cartilage wear or loose bodies

  • Inflammation or unexplained wrist symptoms not responding to conservative care

How is the Procedure Done?

Dr. Amandeep Singh Narang – M.B.B.S., DNB (Ortho), MCh (Ortho), Dundee (U.K.) – is a skilled orthopedic surgeon performing wrist arthroscopy at MKW Hospital, Rajouri Garden.

The procedure is typically done under local or regional anesthesia. Small incisions (about 2–3 mm) are made through which the arthroscope and instruments are inserted. Dr. Narang evaluates the wrist joint on a screen and performs necessary treatments such as ligament repair, cyst removal, or joint debridement.

The surgery generally takes 30–60 minutes, and most patients can go home the same day. A structured rehab program is provided to restore wrist strength and mobility.

If you suffer from ongoing wrist pain or limited function, consult Dr. Amandeep Singh Narang for advanced wrist arthroscopy in Rajouri Garden – where expert care meets minimally invasive precision.
